Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center
What is pulmonary rehabilitation?
Our pulmonary rehabilitation (rehab) is a nationally accredited program through the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. It is designed to help those individuals with chronic lung diseases optimize their overall health and physical stamina. With completion of our program, participants are able to do their activities of daily living at a much easier pace and are able to have a better understanding of their disease process to prevent worsening of their conditions and hospitalizations.Who can benefit from pulmonary rehab?

What to expect?
Participants in Pulmonary Rehab will have their heart rate, heart rhythm, blood pressure, oxygen levels and symptoms monitored by our team. We will assist and direct you in a specific exercise routine tailored to your physical abilities and breathing limitations. Most classes are three days per week for a set number of weeks usually dictated by insurance.

How to get started?
Getting started is easy. Simply bring a prescription or referral from your doctor to the Lifestyle Center. A doctor's prescription is required along with a recent Pulmonary Function Test, signed hospital release form and copies of your insurance card with a picture ID.
