Bariatric surgery information sessions

Making the choice to have bariatric surgery is not simple. Those considering it can find out more about expectations, recovery and follow-up at information sessions.

1^st and 3^rd Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m.
2^nd and 4^th Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
1^st, 2^nd and 4^th Thursday of every month starting May 3rd at 6:30 p.m.

Bariatric support group

Designed for both pre- and post-operative patients, the Bariatric Support Group meets on the third Thursday of each month. For information, call 757-312-3000.

Meet Bariatric Coordinator Desiree Kinniburgh

Desiree Kinniburgh Desiree received her registered nursing degree with honors at Tidewater Community College and earned her bachelors degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. She was given the privilege to be the guest speaker at Tidewater Community College graduate ceremony.

Desiree is specialized in neuroscience/critical care nursing has many years of experience with bariatric patients and procedures. She understands the challenges and opportunities associated with this life changing process.
